Feeding Lunches to the Poor
Earlier in November, several members from our partner church took lunches to people living in poor communities. Many people in Portoviejo are unable to afford some of the simple necessities of everyday life such as having enough food to eat. Pastor Ruben and his church feel called to help provide relief where and when they can to those who are struggling and especially to children. Your donations help make ministries like these possible and we hope to see this outreach program continue and expand to more communities.
Providing a Hearing Aid to Young Jesus
Recently, our partner church was able to assist a family in getting a hearing aid for their young son, Jesus. Hearing aids are often pricey and it can be difficult to find the proper device to match the specific hearing needs of an individual. Thanks to your continued support young Jesus now has a hearing device suited to his needs which will allow him to be more included in everyday conversations and activities.
Awanas Continues
In 2016 Pastor Ruben and his church started an Awanas program to reach out to children in the church and in the community. The mission of Awanas is to guide children and young adults in their walk with Jesus. In 2017 your donations made it possible for the church to continue this vital ministry. This year has been another success for Awanas, and with your continued support, Pastor Ruben and his congregation will be able to continue bringing the love of Jesus to children and young adults, giving them tools to become disciples and bring the message of hope to others in need.
Groceries to Those Facing Hardship
Pastor Ruben and his church believe strongly in bringing aid to those in need, both within their congregation and out in the community. One of their ministries is to take groceries to people facing hardship, like the two women in these pictures. Your donations also make this ministry possible; you are helping provide food to those who hunger.
School Books for Brothers Who Lost Their Father
These two boys lost their father back in April. The tragedy of loosing a beloved parent was worsened by added finances such as the need to prepare for an upcoming school year. Pastor Ruben and his church stepped in and purchased new school books and school clothes for these brothers, lifting some of the financial from this family and giving them hope. The church’s ability to help with cases like this is made possible by your continued support.
Bathroom Rehab
The couple in this picture had been dealing with a bathroom in desperate need of repair and overhaul. The before picture shows the shower in the beginning stages of a rehab. It had rough concrete walls, a rough floor and poor fixtures. The church was able to gift this couple with a much needed bathroom renovation. Projects like these are another important ministry of Pastor Ruben’s church and their continuation is made possible because of the gifts you give through your donations.
