Since the founding of our organization, we have been blessed with donations, which have allowed us to provide a steady financial base to our partner, Linaje Del Rey Church. We would like to thank all of the generous people who have contributed so far to K.L.O.E. and supported our mission to aid our partner church.
Thanks to last year’s fundraising efforts and especially the donations that we received, our organization was able to start financially supporting Linaje Del Rey Church on a monthly basis in September 2017. We are currently providing about 20% of the church’s annual budget and we hope to be able to increase this amount in 2018 in order to enable the church to expand their ministry and community outreach which is the main focus of Pastor Ruben’s vision.
Here are some of the highlights of how much donations helped both Linaje Del Rey Church and the community that they support:
One of the first opportunities to put the donations to good use came when an 18 year old musician from the church worship group needed to have heart surgery to correct a condition, which if left untreated would be fatal. The young man’s mother did not have the money to pay for the surgery and was worried about what would happen to him. Donations made to K.L.O.E. made it possible for this young man to get this life saving surgery. Since that time, he has fully recovered and is back to praising The Lord as a member of Linaje Del Rey’s worship group.
Another opportunity arrived when Marcelo, a widower and father of a young boy, was able to purchase 50 baby chickens with money given to our partner church. Marcelo lost his wife to cancer and also became very sick himself, and was losing weight, making it difficult for him to earn a living. His son has difficulty hearing and requires the use of a hearing device. Marcelo was able to recover from his illness and will now be able to earn a living and provide for himself and his son through the income he raises from the eggs produced by the chickens when they mature.
One of the church’s main ministries is the Awana program, which it started in 2016. Linaje Del Rey was able to continue with Awanas in 2017, reaching even more kids with the message of Jesus. Contributions to K.L.O.E. helped provide the church with funds to purchase supplies and prizes for both the leaders and kids in the program. Pastor Ruben and his church hope to continue with Awanas and we look forward to providing more donations to the church to make this possible.
The church was also able to hold its annual Christmas & Hanukkah party again in 2017. This party is a great chance for Linaje Del Rey to reach out to children and families, not just in the church, but also in the community, and to give them the message of hope and joy. Thanks to donations made to K.L.O.E., we were able to send extra funds to our partner church before Christmas, which helped them to purchase gifts for the children who would be attending the party. Each year, this party helps to lift the spirits of so many children and their families, and we hope to be able to help Pastor Ruben and his church to continue this ministry as well.
